Interview with Bill Fox
Bill Fox was a member of Skidmore’s Sociology faculty from 1976 to 2011. During his 35 years of service to the College, he was a valued teacher in his discipline and much appreciated mentor to many junior colleagues. He chaired the Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work Department for multiple terms and served on numerous all-college committees. In this interview he reflects on educational quality at Skidmore; early IT support of quantitative teaching; student-faculty interactions; chairing a joint department; and changes in community life, the physical campus, the student body, academic administration, and the all-college curriculum during his tenure. He ends by musing on the personal impact of a professional life spent at Skidmore.
