Description
Ruth Copans joined the Scribner library staff in 1991, serving as the Humanities Librarian and overseer of Special Collections. During the library’s first renovation, Ruth was named the Library Director, and she oversaw the completion of that renovation, as well as the subsequent renovation in 2011-12, when IT was incorporated into the library building and electronic holdings were expanded. Ruth brought disparate and multi-disciplinary experiences to the library, from chamber music concerts to faculty talks about their interests outside of their research and teaching to printing services and music borrowing. Ruth turned the library into a welcoming meeting place for students and faculty and an accessible resource for materials, both in print and digitally.
