Description
Ruth M. McAdams is a Senior Teaching Professor in the English Department at Skidmore College, where she has taught courses in literature and writing since 2017. She is a scholar of Victorian literature with a PhD from the University of Michigan. She has written many articles for scholarly journals and has a book under contract with Edinburgh University Press. She grew up in Chicago, and has also lived in Philadelphia, Edinburgh (Scotland), Ann Arbor (MI), Atlanta, and Istanbul (Turkey), as well as Saratoga Springs. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, running, and playing the oboe. She was one of the lead organizers of the successful campaign to unionize Skidmore’s non-tenure-track faculty in September 2022. She is currently serving on the Negotiating Committee of Skidmore Faculty Forward, SEIU Local200 United.
