Barry Goldensohn came to Skidmore in 1981 as professor for poetry in the English department. In this interview, he discusses everything from the diverse Brooklyn community in which he was raised, to his experiences teaching and writing alongside his wife, Lorrie Goldensohn. He also describes his close relationship with his students—many of which went on to find immense success as writers. Despite his love for teaching, Barry left Skidmore so that he could devote all of his time to his true passion—writing.
