Description
Sarah Goodwin joined the Skidmore English faculty in 1983 teaching courses in composition, women’s studies, British romantic poetry, feminist theory and participated in the Liberal Studies program. Her passion was interdisciplinary thinking and courses focusing on student dialogue and diversity. Intergroup relations were important components which she brought to her role as teacher, English Department Chair and Associate Dean of the Faculty. Sarah led Skidmore’s Middle States accreditation assessment and later participated in assessments at other schools. Since retirement in 2019 Sarah has led two reading groups on Race and Racism, one at Harvard and one with Skidmore faculty and staff.
