He chaired the Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work Department for multiple terms and served on numerous all-college committees. In this interview he reflects on educational quality at Skidmore; early IT support of quantitative teaching; student-faculty interactions; chairing a joint department; and changes in community life, the physical campus, the student body, academic administration, and the all-college curriculum during his tenure.
